Re: Buying cars at an auction
Don't go on a buying trip pissed is my advice.

Went to the one near Camberley on New Year's Day many years ago with Mrs Bungo and friend who we mistakenly thought knew about cars.

Came away with an Opel Manta that looked nice, but went into self-destruct mode the moment it had four wheels off the premises.

Money pit doesn't even start to describe it...

Done it a few times, listen carefully to what the auctioneer says , or more importantly what he doesn’t say.

Any odd noises or even a blown exhaust keep well away , it’s usually hiding a load of horrors.

Better off going e bay , at least you can test drive them first .

Thought you bought an Astra.

Re: Buying cars at an auction
Bought a couple of right bargains but that was a few years back at the Chelmsford car auction, looked online last year when my son passed his test and it looks much more organised. Bought a year old Nissan almera tino (a 53 plate then) with 9k Miles for £6000 and a year previous to that a very tidy part Ex Fiat Punto that was 3 years old for £2300 that had just under 40k on the clock. Both were really good cars. Obviously don’t forget there’s a percentage added for the sellers fee.
